SHANGHAI-based China Pacific Insurance Co has paid a total of 11.22 million yuan ($1.36 million) to the local Shanghai White Cat Co recently as compensation for its recent loss of raw materials. The South Korean ship "Buil," carrying 1,500 tons of White Cat's raw materials, sank in East China Sea when it collided with another South Korean ship "SunYang Cheml 1" in the mid-May.

IBM roadshow

IBM, a global IT giant, recently took a roadshow around 16 mainland cities including Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou, the three leading e-business centres in the country, displaying latest on-line business solution technology and products to Chinese enterprises crafting their own business websites on the web.
