Ting Shao Kuang at AA Gallery
IT wasn't until 1980, at the age of 41, that Ting Shao Kuang went to the United States. At this age, it is sometimes difficult to rise high in competitive American society. But after six years, Ting worked a minor miracle at the New York Art Exposition, a major commercial art fair when three of his original paintings on show won him a lot of commissions for serigraphs - silk screen original prints.

WHEN opera singer Zhang Feng went to Italy on a Katia Ricciarelli fellowship two years ago, he was detained by the customs officers in Milan who suspected he was going there doing business and rejected his entry.

Shadow puppets An exhibition of shadow puppets is being held at the Shanghai Art Museum, which has opened provisionally on a new site at the former Shanghai Library, together with a shadow puppet performance.
