Two cosmetics experts, both of Asian origin, have designed a range of light, clean spring/summer makeup.

New season Yue-Sai

The Yue-Sai brand, which established itself with strong, bright colours and abundant application of makeup, is offering something completely different.

A collection of light colours including ice pink, light apricot yellow and ivory white has been created, every tone is light and soft.

"I want to create a makeup that makes your face look as though it has been washed by spring water," said Yue-Sai. "The skill of applying it is the same, the only difference is the choice of colour."

Yue-Sai has designed three new ranges of makeup of different tones to match the different colours of your summer wardrobe.

" Orange makeup - Lemon and khaki eyecolour, orange face powder, light apricot lipstick and peach nail gloss makes up the orange collection. The perfect match for clothes of orange, ice green, ice yellow and light peach colours.

. Pink makeup - Ice pink and ivory white eye colour, pink face powder and light pink lipstick and nail gloss. This makeup is made to match clothes of colours including strawberry red, ice pink, ice blue, ice purple and deep pink.

. Neutral makeup - Designed for those people who are a little more reserved and whose wardrobes are full of ice grey, deep grey, white and khaki clothes. Eye colours of deep brown, light brown and cream white, lip stick of light brown and face colours of orange or pink.

Woman and Water

Jia Baoyu, one of the main protagonists of "Dream of the Red Mansions," a famous Chinese novel, said famously "woman is made of water." The hero's meaning was that women were purer - and therefore better - than men. This has since become a Chinese saying.

The makeup of new Japanese brand AQUA, meaning water, made its debut last month in Shanghai and is an embodiment of this ancient Chinese saying about water.

With clean water as its symbol and blue and silver as its basic colours, AQUA aims to make skin regain a pure, natural glow and texture. There are three ranges of AQUA for spring and summer.

. Natural makeup - With light yellow and orange tones, this range enhances the feminina, soft features of the face.

Light orange face powder balances the skin's natural tones and renders a natural and clear outline. Two eye colours of the same tone including cream and light orange are the key to this range. The two look soft and feminine.

Lipstick should always match eye shadow. You should choose colours similar to your original lip colour to avoid an orange effect.

. Fresh look - A fresh green eye colour is the highlight of this range. AQUA offers two kinds of vibrant green eye shadows and a pink lipstick to match.

. Light and shadow - Different tones of the same colour create a perfect effect of light and shadow in this range which is easy to adjust to individual tastes.

The three eye colours are white, purple and grey with gloss. These colours give the eyes a dusky look of mystery. Two face powders, including orange and cream, help your cheeks glow.

Lipstick is light pink.
