"PANSI Cave," a classical Peking opera, has been performed by the Shanghai Peking Opera House 500 times in the last decade, far more frequently than any other show in their repertoire.

On April 6, this story about the famous Monkey King, well known to Chinese audiences, will be staged at Shanghai Yifu Theatre to raise money for the 5th National Games for the Disabled to be held in Shanghai in May.

Famous young Peking opera actress and actors, Shi Min, Yan Qinggu and Li Jun, will take the lead roles in the year 2000 version of "Monkey King Fights Pansi Cave."

Shi Min, a massive Peking opera star, is also soon expected to become the first Peking opera artist in Shanghai to receive a Master's degree in her art. (Star News)
