Bingo! Local bar hits the spot IF you like a challenge, but nothing too strenuous, the Toud Original Toy Bar on Xianxia Road could be just the place for you and your friends. The bar has about 80 different games available for customers and many are wooden ones imported from Thailand and Germany, according to bar manager He Yinglong. "We provide various types of games to suit different players, and to suit every mood," she said. The largest is "bingo" which can be played by up to 90 people. The "Single Noble" game is designed to improve the player's mental agility. This game, a kind of solitaire, is played by putting small wooden counters on the round checkerboard with a lone white one in the middle. Counters can then jump others, according to the rules, and be taken away. When only the white one remains in the middle, you win. "But not every game is so simple. Some test your intelligence, and even your patience," said He. Time: 11:00 am-3:00 am Place: 650 Xianxia Road Tel: 6261-6402 (Star News) Copyright 2000 by Shanghai Star. All rights reserved. |
