PREMIER packaging and processing trade show - ProPak China 2000 - is due to be staged at INTEX Shanghai from May 24-27.

"The sixth annual international packaging and processing exhibition will see a significant increase in size over Propak China 99 which was the biggest display to date of international technology in the sector in China," said Cathy Lee, spokesperson of the organizer, Hong Kong Exhibition Services. She said there will be more international pavilions at the show.

These pavilions will mainly include delegations from the United States, Japan, Austria, Germany, Spain, Britain, Italy, South East Asian nations and from Taiwan and Hong Kong SAR.

More business activity is likely to start up as foreign business institutions pour into the China market when China's accession to WTO is assured, giving the packaging industry a golden opportunity in business expansion, said Lee.

Also attending the fair would be packaging industry leaders including, Anritsu, Avery Dennison, Bericap, Bossar, Topaz, Sacmi Imola, TCP Pioneer and Videojet.
