ALCATEL Co has signed a contract with the State Administration of Radio, Film and TV to provide its state-of-the-art DWDM solution for transmissions between Beijing and Shanghai. UNILEVER (China) Co has launched an intensive promotion campaign for its new Zhonghua Herbal Toothpaste. The toothpaste, which made its market debut in the fourth quarter of 1999, has performed very well given the intensive market competition, said Mike Shepherd with the company.

Dell 2400 server

DELL Computer Co last week expanded the capabilities of its server series with the introduction of the Dell PowerEdge 2400 server to the China market. The server will offer the latest Intel Pentium III processor technology, to its Chinese customers. The company also plans to incorporate Intel Pentium III processors into its two other products - PowerEdge 1300 and 2300.

EBAY, the world's most successful auction site is launching Ebay Chinatown, a new platform designed to cater to the taste and aspiration of the Chinese population, with the co-operation of Sohu.com, a leading Chinese Internet portal, in China. Ebay Chinatown is now ready to register new users and Sohu.com will be using it's high traffic volume to help with the marketing drive by promoting heavily online throughout its site.
