Housing fair planned for April
By Mu Ji

A housing fair featuring properties at the top end of the market - Rexpo Shanghai ‘2000 - is to be staged at Shanghai International Convention Centre (SHICC) in early April.

The four-day-long fair is targeted at the city's middle- and high-income customers, such as white-collar employees working in joint ventures, managers and expats looking for comfortable accommodation in Shanghai and its neighbouring regions, such as Suzhou and Kunshan, said Pan Fan, a spokesman for Rexpo Shanghai organizing committee.

"All the exhibited housing projects will be priced at over 3,000 yuan ($360) per square metre or with an aggregate price over 500,000 yuan ($60,400)," said Pan.

She also said that all the institutions involved in the process of house buying, ranging from government administrations, exhibition services companies and financial institutions to housing firms would be in attendance at the fair.

"So far, all preparations have been going very smoothly," Pan said.

Shuttle buses will be laid on to transport visitors to the fair from downtown areas to Pudong,'' Pan said.
