Woman raped, murdered for $21 and phone

AN unemployed migrant from Anhui Province was arrested last week for robbing, raping, and murdering a young woman, according to sources from Zhabei Procuratorate. The suspect, 28-year-old Zhou Chenbing, formerly employed by several decoration companies, decided to set up a pastry shop by himself, according to the procuratorate. He lacked the required funds, however, and went to borrow money from a 21-year-old girl surnamed Wu in whose home Zhou had once served as a decorator. When he entered Wu's home in Zhabei District and expressed his intention, Wu was reluctant to lend him money, saying that having financed the decorations she didn't really have much money left. Realizing that Wu was all by herself, Zhou suddenly attacked her. He knocked her out before raping her, and then killed her. He also robbed 180 yuan ($21) and a mobile phone.
