Circus a dazzler

A FLYING trapeze listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, lions and tigers playing on the same stage, ballet dancing in the air and stunt motorcycling on the inner wall of a giant cylinder - the visiting Royal London Circus has dazzled local audiences with its over two hour-show every day in Shanghai.

The circus performs inside the largest mobile tent in the world, with a seating capacity of 5,000.

The air-conditioned tent is located at the intersection of Zhongshan Road N. and Guangxin Road, the site for a massive property project being undertaken by the China Ocean Shipping Company.

Circus staff also live in the giant tent, greatly cutting the cost of the show and making the tickets less expensive to locals.

The circus started its tour to Shanghai at Christmas and will perform until February 8.

Time: 7:00pm most nights until Feb 8.

Place: Intersection of Zhongshan Road N. and Guangxin Road

Admission: 50-200 yuan (Tickets also available at the ticket office of Lyceum Theatre at 57 Maoming Road)

Tel: 6217-8530 ext 214
