Thai it on at the Four Seasons
GUEST chef Pitak Srichan from Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai has come to Shanghai to create authentic Thai flavours for diners at Cafe Studio in the sister hotel in Shanghai. Srichan prepares some of his signature dishes for the buffet lunch and dinner, including chilled eggplant, prawn salad, spicy prawns with lemon grass, red curry, roast duck in coconut milk, deep fried fish and massaman, to name a few. Born in the northern part of Thailand, Srichan's cooking is heavily influenced by culinary features of the cuisine from that part of the country. The spiciness and intense flavour of his creations have pleased some diners who have missed authentic Thai food during their stay in Shanghai. There is no shortage of Thai restaurants here but they have definitely adjusted their flavours to local tastes. Among Srichan's masterpieces is the tropical ice cream in flavours of lemon grass, pandan leaves and durian.
