ISRAEL Food Week is taking place in the Regal Hotel's Bacchus Restaurant. A cuisine that dates back thousands of years, Israeli food integrates Middle Eastern styles, European flavours, North African and many other cultures and tastes. Master Chef Ilan Roberg, together with chef Confectioner Amos Erez, brings a unique culinary feast that presents the best of Israeli-style dishes. A typical Israeli dinner starts with pita with hummus, a sauce made from ground up garbanzo beans, along with salads. The special beans are also served in fried balls called falafel. For the main courses, chef Roberg takes great pride in his creation of chicken marinated in orange and ginger. He has cooked the dish all over the world and has won many awards for it. The chicken is sweet and tasty, lying on top of rice fried with coriander seeds, fried sesame and olives. Zhang Kun |
