    IN 1998, the Heineken Open first came to Shanghai, introduced by the Shanghai-based Ba-shi company. Tennis enthusiasm was inspired by the big event, which included such top players as Michael Chang and Goran Ivanisevic. Chang was crowned the champion in the inaugural Heineken Open.
