THE Shanghai International Circuit (SIC) inaugurated the first round of the China Circuit Championship (CCC) on June 6, as a rehearsal both for the coming Chinese Grand Prix to be held in Shanghai this September and to promote the newly-built circuit.

FOUR young girls from Tongchun Primary School in Shanghai led their football team to a 1-0 victory in the girls' final of the 2004 Danone Youth International Cup. Boys from Zhiyuan Primary School, where football is strongly emphasized, won the boys' championship 2-0.
