Micheal on the Bund

As part of the Festival of Irish Culture, M on the Bund will host a concert in the Glamour Room on May 13 featuring noted Irish musicologist and pianist Micheal O Suillibhain. Micheal and his ensemble of players will present a performance of Hiberno Jazz - a night of music from the edge. The concert is a fusion of contemporary Irish music and a journey through the worlds of traditional, classical and jazz forms. Micheal and the four musicians of Hiberno Jazz will be joined by Caoimhin O Raghallaigh and Michelle Mulcahy, two of Ireland's leading young musicians.

Time for jazz

Paintings of philosophy

Shandong-born artist Du Xinjian is an intellectual surrealist painter who frequently quotes Confucius, Lao Zi and others. Their philosophies and constant questioning of reality have taken root in Du's oil paintings. The artist's subjects are generally floating, freed from the law of gravity.

Humanism in China
