DRAGER Medical, one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical equipment based in Germany, is planning to further expand its activities in China.

"We will further strengthen our presence in China. We will develop our Shanghai company into a base for the sourcing activities of the Drager Medical Group in Asia-Pacific. Furthermore, the research & development competence in China shall be further increased," said Dr Wolfgang Reim, president and CEO of Drager Medical, on the occasion of the company's 10th anniversary in Shanghai.

Shanghai Drager Medical Instruments (SDMI) manufactures a compact anaesthesia work-station called "Fabius" in Shanghai. For Drager Medical, China is the largest market for this type of work-station worldwide, and it is expected that the dynamic growth of the healthcare infrastructure in China will further boost demand.

"With the Fabius anaesthesia work-station, we offer an affordable solution to our customers in China. Many of them are looking for an economic, compact, and reliable state-of-the-art solution for anaesthesia delivery," Andreas Frahm, general manager of SDMI, said.

In the first quarter of the year, SDMI will offer the Fabius as a complete anaesthesia work-station with an enhanced monitoring function for device parameters and the vital signs of the patient. (Star News)
