WORRIED about losing your child, colleague or loved one in the shopping mall, meeting hall or amusement park? it's time that you bought a walkie-talkie. Motorola, the second-largest mobile phone maker in the world, was the first to cash in on the Chinese walkie-talkie market after the government lifted certain bans on civilian use of the devices in December 2001. The several models it launched in the last few years, such as T5628 and Disney design, target outdoor sports users, children and their parents respectively. In late-February, Motorola debuted its latest T7618 model for small business functions. The light-weight T7618 has a cool design able to withstand a harsh environment. It has all the high-tech features for a walkie-talkie, such as two hours battery charge time, PTT (push to talk) earphone, VOX handfree function, scramble and superb anti-jamming function. Annual sales of walkie-talkies in China are expected to reach 312,000 pairs by 2006, according to a survey two years ago. (Star News) |
