THE interchange passageway between Metro Line 1 and Metro Line 2 at People's Square station has started one-way passenger flow at peak times from February 19, with the aim of relieving the present over-crowding, according to sources with Shanghai Metro Operation Co Ltd.

From the evening of February 19, during the peak travel periods of every working day from Monday to Friday (7:30am- 9:30am, 4:30pm-6:30pm), the passages become a clockwise one-way passenger route. That means if a passenger walks from Metro Line 1 to Metro Line 2, he should walk along the (long) south passage. If passengers transfers to Metro Line 1 from Metro Line 2, they should walk along the north passage (the short one). (Star News)
