Three Gorges migrants

Two photographers, Yan Changjiang and Wang Jingchun, exhibit their works on migrants from the Three Gorges Project. The project required thousands of people to move out of their hometowns leaving many towns deserted. The photographers have tried to catch a glimpse of the dramatic changes in the region.

Picturing buildings

Photographer Steve Mok displays the pictures he took of buildings in Shanghai and other metropolises. The 58-year photographer wishes to share his experiences and ideas about building photography. Mok will show his works in a three-dimensional way, with the help of installation. A five-metre-high sculpture of a building will also be included.

The Museum of Ancient Chinese Sex Culture in Jing'an District has assembled more than 1,200 artifacts, including dildos, fertility idols, porcelain copulating animals and erotic paintings. Check out the Sensuous Buddha with a female one sitting astraddle him; a prostitute's bed with a number of wooden birds and squirrels symbolizing the male organ; and the Beauty's Chair, specially designed for sexual congress.

Paul Oakenfold, the Guinness Book of Records Most Successful DJ in the World, will return to Shanghai from Hollywood on April 18, for one night, at PU-J's at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai. Boat fair

The China International Boat Show 2003 and China Fast Ferry & Commercial Craft Show 2003 is on and will last till April 12 in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Pudong. Pleasure boats, motor launches, luxury yachts, sightseeing boats, recreation boats, hydrofoils, wing-in-ground-effect crafts, harbour work boats, fire fighting and rescue boats, high-speed boats and equipment for anti-smuggling and patrol purposes, are all on display.

A fair displaying hotel facilities opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre with more than 400 businesses from 13 countries and regions attending. The 12th four-day Hotelex Shanghai 2003 also includes shows to exhibit fitness, sports and leisure goods as well as boats and related technologies. A new museum with high-tech displays, indoor rainforest, indoor children amusement centre, sound and light shows. Shanghai's two new IMAX 3D cinemas are housed inside the complex. This was the place where the APEC leaders in Chinese cheongsam jackets posed for a family picture.
