officials elected in Northeast China province (04/16/2002)
The first plenary session of the 9th Liaoning Provincial Committee
of the Communist Party of China (CPC) elected its new leadership
Sunday.
Wen Shizhen will continue to act as Secretary of the CPC Liaoning
Provincial Committee, while Bo Xilai, Zhang Wenyue, ZhangXingxiang,
Sun Chunlan and Wang Weizhong were elected deputy secretaries.
Wang Weizhong was also elected secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial
Commission for Discipline Inspection at the commission's first plenary
session Sunday, with Yu Fengsheng, Wang Gang, XingChunhe and Liu
Yaqin elected deputy secretaries.

Jiang Zemin, in his report to the 16th National
Congress of the Communist Party of China, said the Party's door
is open to all positive factors of the society, including private
entrepreneurs, foreign-invested firm employees, self-employed businessmen
and freelance professionals, he also said that the Party should
