Secretaries of CPC Provincial, Regional Committees elected (10/30/2001)
Tian Chengping, 56, was elected Tuesday secretary of the 8th Shanxi
Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).
Tian is also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanxi
Provincial Committee.
Wang Lequan was elected secretary of the 6th CPC Xinjiang Uygur
Autonomous Regional Committee at a meeting of the Party organization.

Jiang Zemin, in his report to the 16th National
Congress of the Communist Party of China, said the Party's door
is open to all positive factors of the society, including private
entrepreneurs, foreign-invested firm employees, self-employed businessmen
