  New Secretaries of CPC Provincial Committees appointed (10/25/2001)

Bai Enpei, 55, has been appointed as Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).

He was Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee beforereplacing Linghu An, who will be appointed to a new position.

Bai is also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee

Su Rong, 53, was appointed Secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Committee. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee.

Su was then removed from his former position as deputy secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee.

Meanwhile, Cao Bochun was elected as secretary of the 8th CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee at the regional meeting of the Party organization.

Jiang Zemin, in his report to the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, said the Party's door is open to all positive factors of the society, including private entrepreneurs, foreign-invested firm employees, self-employed businessmen and freelance professionals, he also said that the Party should advance with the times.
