Zhangong appointed acting governor of Fujian Province (10/14/2002)
Lu Zhangong was appointed vice- governor and acting governor of
east China's Fujian Province at the 35th session of the Standing
Committee of Ninth Fujian Provincial People's Congress Sunday.
The meeting also accepted the resignation of former governor Xi
Jinping, who was elected acting governor of neighboring Zhejiang
Province Saturday.
Lu was born in Cixi City of Zhejiang Province in May 1952. He is
now an alternate member of the 15th Central Committee of the Communist
Party of China (CPC) and deputy secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial
Committee.
Lu served as CPC official at city and provincial levels in Zhejiang
Province between September 1998 and July 1996 when he was deputy
secretary of the CPC provincial committee in Zhejiang.
He worked as deputy secretary of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee
between July 1996 and October 1998.
He was vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions
between October 1998 and January 2001. He took the post of deputy
secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee from January 2001
to now.
