Liu Qi
The following is the biographical sketch of Liu Qi:
Liu
Qi, male, 59, Han nationality, native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province,
was born in Nov. 1942. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC)
in September 1975 and began to work in June 1968. He graduated from
the Metallurgical Department of Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel
Engineering, majoring in iron smelting. With a postgraduate education,
he holds the professional title of senior engineer (professor in
rank).
He is now a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee;
secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee; mayor of Beijing
1959-1964 Student of the Metallurgical Department of Beijing Institute
of Iron and Steel Engineering, majoring in iron smelting
1964-1968 Postgraduate of the Metallurgical Department of Beijing
Institute of Iron and Steel Engineering, majoring in iron smelting
1968-1978 Gas controller, furnaceman and founder of No.2 blast
furnace of the Steel Works of the Wuhan Iron and Steel Company
1978-1983 Technician and deputy head of the No.3 blast furnace
