Newly-elected Chinese President Hu Jintao was approved as vice-chairman of the Cental Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China by lawmakers at a plenary meeting of the First Session of the 10th National People 's Congress (NPC) Sunday morning.

The other two CMC vice-chairmen were Guo Boxiong and Cao Gangchuan.

Xu Caihou, Liang Guanglie, Liao Xilong and Li Jinai were approved as CMC members. They were nominated by Jiang Zemin, who was re-elected CMC chairman Saturday.
