Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) left Macao Tuesday for the opening ceremony of the First Session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, at the invitation of the NPC Standing Committee.

According to a government news release, while Edmund Ho is away from Macao from March 4 to March 6, Secretary for Administration and Justice Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan will be the acting chief executive.

The NPC session is scheduled to open on Wednesday.
